The incredible Gosainkunda Lake Trek holds a special place for religious devotees. The trail goes up to the holy lake situated in the Langtang region. The Gosainkunda Lake Trek usually goes up to a week in total. The trek has many high viewpoints. Trekkers can spot Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal from these viewpoints. Additionally, they love the scene of the beautiful Mount Manaslu (8156m). Also, they spot the shy Himal Chuli (7893m) on a clear day.

The spiritual journey begins from Dhunche Bazaar (1970m). The trail moves up to an old monastery of Shin Gumba (3335m). Similarly, the path from there leads to a huge lake. At 4380m, Gosainkunda Lake looks like a pool of melted sapphire. Consequently, travelers feel their bodies give out positive energy. Finally, the trek leads down to Chandanbari at last.

Gosainkunda Lake Trek is one of the nearest treks to Kathmandu. Yet, the lake lies at a high altitude. This causes difficulty in breathing. Hence, trekkers with fair activeness take part in this journey. Likewise, the trekkers should adjust to slow acclimatization.

DAY 1
Arrival at Kathmandu Airport.

Your arrival in Kathmandu will be marked by landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA). A company representative of Trinetra Holidays will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. Evening you can meet the participants and the trek members. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche Bazaar (1970m) 6-7 hours. (B/L/D)

After breakfast at Kathmandu, you will take an early drive to Dhunche Bazaar. Dhunche is the starting point of your trek. You will take a local bus or a private jeep from Kathmandu. The scenic drive will take about 6-7 hours. You will pass through Trishuli Bazaar and many settlements and along with the ride you will see their drastic variation.

The scenery of vegetation and landscape also keeps changing. First, you will travel through plain lands with colorful vegetation. Then will follow the narrow lanes surrounded by high green as well as barren hills. You also head into the deeper rural face of Nepal within these adventurous roads. From the Dhunche Bazaar, you can see the great view of the Trishuli River and the deep valley. Dhunche is a settlement with good hotels around having basic facilities.

DAY 3
Trek from Dhunche Bazaar to Shin Gumba (3335m) 5-6 hours. (B/L/D)

The first part of the trails ascends gradually through the mineral water factory up to Ghatte Khola (stream). Continue our trek close to the trailhead of Thulo Bhakhu, which leads the easiest route to the village of Dursangang (2735m). Then we have to climb up the steep uphill through the hemlock, pine and rhododendron forest to the top of the ridge at Phoprang Danda (3190m). We cross the bridge and climb up to the cluster of villages called Chandan Bari, also known as Shin Gumba (3330m). We will find some yaks around the village grazing aside the route. Evening we can visit an old cheese factory at Shin Gumba.

DAY 4
Trek from Shin Gumba to Gosainkunda Lake (4380m) 5-6 hours. (B/L/D)

Today trekking first part emerges gently ascent up to Lauribinayak and the top of it gives you an exotic feeling. Then the trails steeply ascend all the way to Gosaikunda. You follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west Himal Chuli (7893m) Manaslu range (8156m), Ganesh Himal range (7406m), Tibetan peaks, and Langtang Lirung. On a clear day, even you can enjoy the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung.

There are several other Lakes apart from Gosainkunda. Wonderful view of Saraswati Kunda descending down & then arrive Bhairab Kunda which is right below the Gosainkunda Lake (4380m), is said to be created by Lord Shiva piercing a glacier with his Trident (Trishul) to obtain water to quench his thirst after consuming poison gathered from the churning of the ocean. Gosainkunda is not only a natural place but a great pilgrimage destination for Hindu and Buddhist religions. During the Janai Purnima festival in early August thousands of people gathering every year.

DAY 5
Trek from Gosainkunda Lake to Chandanbari (3335m) 4-5 hours. (B/L/D)

The morning after breakfast we explore a wonderful view of lakes lined up which are Dudh Kunda (Milk lake), Chandra Kunda (Moon lake), Ragat Kunda (Blood lake) & finally Ama Kunda (Mother lake 4540m) then out trails descend all the way to Chandanbari passing Lauribanayak with magnificent mountain views and forests. Evening we visit the village and Yak cheese factory.

DAY 6
Trek from Chandanbari to Dhunche Bazaar (1970m) 5-6 hours. (B/L/D)

The morning after breakfast we cross through a beautiful forest, following a river, the trails descend through pine, silver oak and rhododendrons forests with marijuana plants up to you cross a suspension bridge over the Shin Gumba Stream. After a couple of hours' walk, we reach the Dhunche Bazaar. Evening you can walk around the Bazaar side and enjoying the amazing sunset view from the hill of Dhunche. Tonight is the last night in the mountain so you can celebrate with your guide and porter for your successful and memorable trip.

DAY 7
Drive from Dhunche Bazaar to Kathmandu 6-7 hours. (B/L/D)

On this day, we drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche Bazaar. After a 6-7 hours’ drive, we reach Kathmandu valley. You will be transferred to the hotel where you either have leisure time or you may catch the last moments exploring the missed sights or shopping for gifts to your nearest ones. Thamel is the best place for buying souvenirs.

In the evening we will have a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepalese restaurant with a cultural performance.

DAY 8
Departure to Airport. (B)

A representative from Trientra Holidays will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
