Pikey Peak Trek is one of the newly familiarized routes and has fewer trekkers in comparison to other trekking routes. Thus, the trek offers off-beat trails with a serene environment and authentic cultural heritage. The Pikey Peak (4068m) offers a surreal vista of the Himalayas in Mt. Everest, Numbur Chuli, Kanchenjunga to the east. Along with it, the Sherpa culture and traditions are also something you’ll definitely enjoy.

To start this trek, you drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar, which lies in the Solukhumbu district. Further, you walk through rhododendron forests with the Rolwaling range in the backdrop. Passing Jhapre, the trek heads northeast towards the Pikey Peak Base Camp. The entire trail is filled with Sherpa villages and rhododendron forests. Then, you ascend to the top of the Pikey Peak (4068m) and enjoy the views of the Mt. Everest, Numbur Chuli, Khatang, Thamserku, Khangtega, Thamserku to the north, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Langtang, Gaurishankar to the west, Kanchenjunga to the east. Pikey Peak is said to be one of the best viewpoints to enjoy the view of Mt. Everest (8848.86m). Lastly, you trek to Shivalaya before returning to Kathmandu.

On average, you walk 5-6 hours per day on the trek. The trek is 9 days long and the maximum altitude you reach is the Pikey Peak at 4,068 meters. Sherpas are the ethnic people who dominate the settlements along the trail. Thus, you can enjoy their lifestyle and culture as well.

This is a short and easy trek with unsurpassable scenic rewards. So, this trek is also suitable for families with kids and senior members. Us, if you are on a tight schedule but want to experience the Himalayas, this is the perfect trek for you.

DAY 1
Arrival at Kathmandu Airport.

Your arrival in Kathmandu will be marked by landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A company representative of Trinetra Holidays will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. Evening you can meet the participants and the trek members. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 2
Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and trip Preparation. (B)

After breakfast, we start for Kathmandu city tour which includes four of the UNESCO heritage site in the valley.

Pashupatinath Temple: The temple is one of the most sacred pilgrims’ sites for Hindus all over the world. It is the temple of Lord Shiva, the temple where the dead bodies are criminated on the Bank of Bagmati River.

Boudhanath Stupa: which is one of the biggest stupas in Asia and the holiest Buddhist Pilgrims and famous tourist destination in Valley. It is also famous for over 50 Tibetan gompas or monasteries.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: It holds the places of the ancient king who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom.

Swayambhunath(Monkey Temple): It is located in the heart of the valley. It is another famous tourist destination and holiest Buddhist pilgrims.

DAY 3
Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar (2850m) 7-8 hours. (B/L/D)

After breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, we start drive to enjoy the drive to the Dhap Bazaar. This takes appx 7-8 hours to reach there. On the way, you can see the beautiful view of landscapes and the deep valley, dense forest of Rhododendron. We will stay overnight in town Dhap Bazaar.

DAY 4
Trek from Dhap Bazaar to Jhapre (2815m) via Sigane 4-5 hours. (B/L/D)

We will basically follow the dirt road passing through the village of Sigane. The walking is scenic with the view of Mt Everest and Numbur Himal through the clearing of the Rhododendron forest. Walk around the village and visit the local monastery after a 4-5 hours trip today we reach Jhapre.

DAY 5
Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3585m) 5-6 hours. (B/L/D)

Enjoy the morning view of the Himalayas and start a day’s trek to Pikey peak base camp. The trail climbs through the Rhododendron forest coming to Yak pasture. Cross the long Mane wall and climb further to Pikey peak base camp. Visit the Yak Cheese factory and enjoy the splendid view of snow peaks.

DAY 6
Trek from Pikey Base Camp to Junbesi (2680m) via Pikey Peak (4068m)5-6 hours. (B/L/D)

In the early morning we will walk uphill to reach Pikey Peak (4068m) which takes around one hour. From there you can see the breathtaking sunrise view over the Himalayan range and the beautiful view of Mt. Everest, Number Chuli, Khatang, Thamserku, Khangtega, Thamserku to the north, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Langtang, Gaurishankar to the west, Kanchenjunga to the east.

Then we will trek downhill towards Junbesi which takes around 6 hours by walk and we will stay overnight.

DAY 7
Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu (2380m) 4-5 hours. (B/L/D)

The trail from Junbesi descends down the Junbesi River and crosses the suspension bridge to the town of Benighat at the confluence. The day’s walking is scenic and continues unveiling new vista and an opportunity for cultural immersion.

DAY 8
Fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu 35 min. (B/D)

On this day we will fly back to Kathmandu from Phaplu where we enjoy the scenic flight to Kathmandu with lots of mountains and deep valley view. This takes about 35 minutes. Then we transfer to the hotel. Evening you can do shopping in Thamel for your friends & family.

In the evening we will have farewell dinner at an authentic Nepalese restaurant with cultural performance.

DAY 9
Departure to Airport. (B)

A representative from Trinetra Holidays will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

DAY 10
Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (EBC) (5545m) to Pheriche (4371m) 4-5 hours. (B/L/D)

On this day, we trek to the small mountain of Kalapatthar. Gigantic views of mountains and glaciers around you give a sense of heaven including a close-up view of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, and Pumori. We continue trekking to a small settlement of Pheriche. You can explore the village of Pheriche.

DAY11
Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3446m) 6-7 hours. (B/L/D)

Morning after breakfast retrieving journey to Namche Bazaar is pleasantly through valleys and pasturelands. We pass through Tengboche and continue by enjoying the picturesque view of Monjo valley. The distance of the mountains makes you feel like watching all the time. we reach Namche Bazaar with wifi available now is also time to touch base with loved ones at home and perhaps upload a few pictures of your trip.

DAY 12
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2860m) 5-6 hours. (B/L/D)

This day trekking trail follows a sandy path with a strenuous walk. The trail is full of picturesque views of the landscape and some mountain scenarios. You can explore Lukla Bazaar and shop for local items there. You can celebrate your successful trekking there in Lukla with special brands of drinks.

DAY 13
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. (B/D)

On this day, fly to Kathmandu in the morning. This short and scenic flight possibly makes you feel nostalgic because of the glimpses of snowy mountains through the private window of a plane. You will be transferred to the hotel where you either have leisure time or you may catch the last moments exploring the sights of Kathmandu.

We could take a rest in our hotel room or shop for souvenirs for our Family and friends. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepalese restaurant with a cultural performance.

DAY 14
Departure to Airport. (B)

A representative from Trinetra Holidays will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
